Fremdword is designed to be used without creating an account or signing in.
Our aim is to keep the site lightweight and to minimise the amount of personal information required simply to play the crossword.
Technical information
Like most websites, the web server may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver pages and diagnose problems, such as request times, browser information and network addresses.
This information is used for operating, securing and improving the service rather than for building individual player profiles.
Anonymous usage statistics
Fremdword records anonymous aggregate usage statistics so that we can understand how the game is being used and improve it.
These statistics can include the number of puzzles started or completed, the difficulty selected, the language combination used, checks performed and sharing actions.
These aggregate statistics do not contain crossword answers, account information, cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. They are not used to build individual player profiles.
Puzzle progress and sharing
Features such as puzzle progress or preferences may use storage provided by your browser. Information stored locally in your browser remains under the control of that browser and can normally be cleared through its settings.
If you choose to use a sharing feature, the selected sharing service may process the information you choose to send under its own privacy terms.
